Not a dumb question, Matt.
I've often thought it would be nice if SR had a little "about us" section that briefly describes how this place came to be.
I do recall reading somewhere that it had origins with one man who, in the earlier days of the internet, realized the power the online world could have to help alcoholics and addicts.

Jon heller....I needed to know that name. Just important for me to know the story. After dozens of attempts at sobriety I feel like SR is really doing it for me. I think that story should be posted right up front. Thank you for finding it!
