So I haven't been feeling well for a few days, then went out for 4th of July, I came home, my house is a mess. I guess I didn't notice how bad it got because when you live there you really don't see things, or chose not to see things.

Well, I decided that I was going to clean today. I am going on vacay Aug 5 th through the 12th. I don't want people coming here thinking that I'm a slob !!!!!!

Try cleaning when you have 4 cats. I guess vacuuming was the easiest. They all ran out to my screened in porch. I think I should have just let the vacuum keep going. Anything I cleaned, they had to lay on. Every time I opened a door, they had to go in that room. I don't let my cats in the bedrooms, but once they get in, you can't get them out.

I tried to clean the windows, they wanted to help. I tried to clean the microwave, they had to help, I tried to clean on top of the fans, they had to be on the ladder with me. All 4 of them. Now I am sitting here in my chair, and I have one of my right side, one on my left side, one on top of the couch, and one by my feet.

I didn't get much done today.

Oh well, will try again tomorrow.

Oh, for a treat, I get an additional cat for 1 week in November.

Maybe leave the vacuum cleaner running in the doorway of whatever room you are trying to clean as sort of a temporary cat barrier?

They just want to hang out wherever you are!!

So funny, and sounds like my house! We have two cats that we are just crazy about. One is 15 years old, and he's like a grumpy old man. The other is 6 and she's just extraordinary. Super smart, curious, loving. Most nights I have one cat sleeping on my head and one is at our feet

That's so funny! I wish my cat was as affectionate. He really blows hot and cold with me. At the moment, he's sitting next to me on the couch, with one paw resting on me and I feel so pathetically grateful when he's affectionate to me! Sometimes it feels like he's a boyfriend I'm chasing after who isn't all that into me!

Oh my, do I feel your pain Amy..... I have SEVEN of those feline monsters to work around. The best thing I ever invested in was a $1 bag of pipe cleaners - we roll them into balls using 3-5 pipes per ball & they go crazy chasing them down the hallways when I throw one to distract them away from my project. They have been driving me up the wall trying to inspect the painting work I'm doing to the interior walls of a dollhouse - cat fur & wet paint, argh!

For a moment yesterday, I had this really crazy thought. (lol). I actually thought that after I put them to bed for the night, like you can do with children, then I could wash my floors. (hahahahahaha). Then I thought well, they like the enclosed porch, I'll just shut the door there and I could do some work. That didn't work. I shut the door, went to get cleaning supplies, looked at the door, and one of the cats was attached to the door looking in at me, meowing.

It's funny that they all have their own little different personalities. It's also funny how they can sleep almost all day long, except for when you are trying to do something. I'm amazed sometimes when I can get to the basement without them following, but then I come back up the stairs and they are right there by the door waiting for me. I actually have to kiss one of my cats every time I leave and when I come back home.

Cats rule !!!!!!!!

I couldn't imagine my life without them.
