I need help now

I am a recovering alcoholic and am in a desperate state. I have had about 100 days sober after rehab but have begun drinking again and I am in a desperate place right now. Need help to talk me though it.

What's up pdx? Why'd you pick up? It doesn't fix anything, you have to know this.

Welcome to SR! You will find lots of support here! What helped you stay sober during the 100 days? What can you add in as a support?

Welcome, pdxnative!

I did the same as Dee. I read the posts from members and didn't pick up for any reason.

Got through my first week sober and never looked back.

You found a good place.

Keep sharing. You can get right back on track. You did 100 days, you can do this.

Everytime I drank against my will it was because I am alcoholic and had no effective mental defence against the first drink. To get that defence I went to AA and started the program almost immediately by taking step one. I was completely beaten and would do anything for the misery to stop. And the misery stopped.

Slip ups are going to happen, but take them for just that, slip ups. Get back on the horse whenever you can and don't dwell on the past. Each day is another opportunity to stop. Focus only on today. Get through today and see how great you feel tomorrow. One day at a time.
