My first post

My husband is an alcoholic. We've been married for 34 years. His therapist recommended this site. I've just started reading posts today. It makes me feel good and sad at the same time. I'm crying as I write. I'm trying to get the courage to attend my first al-anon meeting tonight but I'm apprehensive to go by myself and don't feel it's fair to ask one of my kids to come with me. My husband was sober for 3-4 years and fell off the wagon about a year ago. I'm just tired and sad all the time
I don't know if I have the strength to do this again.
Thanks for listening.

Welcome to the family. We've also got forums for friends and family of alcoholics. Give it a look for more insight.

Welcome. The fact that your therapist recommended this site speaks volumes about it. As a sober alcoholic, I'm on the other side of the desk from you, but what I can say without reservation is that this site offers much support and strength. Many members here have been in your shoes. All the best.
