Done and dusted
Today is day 1. I'm so scared I'll fail, but I am so done. I don't drink every day, but usually Mondays are the worst. It isn't healthy and I need to rather find the reason why I do this. Hoping to get some support and love here.
Welcome, and congratulations on Day 1.
It's important to stop drinking, and I believe it's important to look within and to try to heal the issues that caused the drinking. We are always here to support you.

There is a wealth of knowledge and so many kind people on this site!
Welcome
Welcome to SR. I was scared that I'd fail. However, if you don't even try, you won't find out if you can do it. Good for choosing the possibility that you will succeed.
Keep it simple. Make a plan. Reach out for support. A lot of support. Here and in real life.

Hey, and welcome. Just remember this is a decision you've made for yourself and be proud of that. Don't try to think too far ahead, just focus on the here and now. I'm just literally going into day 3 and already have so much more clarity than I've had in a long, long time. A lot of that is to do with reaching out to local services that are there to help, and finding online support here. I also suffer with anxiety which has always fed in part my drinking habit, so I've found an online place for that too. It all helps.
The best things in life tend to get harder before they get easier, so just keep putting one foot in front of the other and congratulate yourself on the personal milestones you make. I made a decision to get myself something nice after each 7 days. Just something small, like a candle I like or something for the house - even just a bar of chocolate. It's also a hell of a lot cheaper than wasting money on poison, right? so stay strong and you'll be fine
