Withdrawal anxiety is horrible. But if you stay sober it will go away. Just don't drink and it will get better. Three days is still in physical withdrawal so the anxiety is to be expected.

The first 5 days or so are hell, that's for sure, but it will pass.

Yep, the anxiety during alcohol detox is torture. Most of us here have been there before. I wouldn't sleep for 3-4 days. Couldn't even leave the house. Just gotta soldier through it and come out the other side.

Hi , Sorry you feel like this . I posted not long ago with the exact same and now feel much better . I started paying attention to my breathing and realized I was hyperventilating a lot , I stopped focusing ( so much ) on symptoms although this is hard , accept this is part of the healing process and it does get better , get distracted with walking, exercise ( last thing you want really but it does help) . Hope you feel better soon

Pretty much what everyone else said. Just be kind to yourself about what you're going through and know that it is temporary. I'll have a good thought for you

there were a few times at the 3-5 month mark where i was sitting in my cubicle and it felt like there was a fish hook in my brain and someone was trying to reel it in,

It happened to me yeah - I had anxiety before I ever took my first drink, but I think it's common.

If you don;t have pre existing anxiety, most people find things get better as time goes on.

Of course if you're finding it completely unmanageable, seeing your Dr is probably a good idea

Yes. Very common. My anxiety usually runs pretty high for a couple of weeks and then things begin to even out. Exercise and yoga help immensely.

Very common, and more often that not, with time it subsides. The only thing we can do is ride it out.
