Rough afternoon/night

I posted this in the January thread as well, but would do love some extra thoughts and prayers for my mom tonight.

It has been a rough day around here. My mom fell as she was trying to get outside for a barbecue and is in the hospital. She has several health issues and her lupus has affected her joints/organs. She went down really hard and her knees are swollen. The doctors were great, and are running lots of tests. Her cumadin level has been off lately, and she was supposed to go tomorrow to have it tested again. There is the possibility of surgery on her knees due to severe arthritis and now she is completely unable to lift herself up or walk.

She is in good hands tonight, and I am back at her house with my kids. I am glad I was here to be with her and talk to the doctors. Hope to know more tomorrow. I am also glad I was able to follow the ambulance and get to the hospital. This wouldn't have been the case if I were still drinking. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers tonight.

Thanks,
❤️ Delilah

Delilah, how scary, I will be thinking of you and your mother. I am so glad to hear she is in good hands though.
Having something happen to one of my loved ones and needing to get to the hospital but not being able to because I was drunk was always one of my worst fears. I am sure you feel so good that this was not the case for you.
I have found that often after a really stressful event when i am finally able to sit down and relax the emotions come washing out and I feel exhausted. Take care of yourself during this time too. Get some rest and eat well, you may have some busy times ahead should you need to care for your mother after she returns.

I'm so sorry Delilah. My parents are both aging fast now and falls have been the biggest issue for them. My father barely moves but my Mom doesn't get that she needs to be more careful. She has dizzy spells and faints. Ugh.

I will be thinking of your Mom!

Thinking of you and your Mom, Delilah. I'm glad you can truly be there for her.

Remember to take good care of yourself, too.

Delilah, I'm really sorry about your Mom's fall. Isn't it a good feeling to be completely sober and have all your wits about you, when a loved one needs you.

Prayers of strength and healing for your mother.
