Im So Sad and feel very alone . . .

Just learned that my husband of 20 years is actually an addict and life is so bumpy right now. I have been to 9 Al Anon meetings in 10 days but cannot seem to find the words or courage to share how sad and lost I am.

I am so sorry for what brings you here. However, you have found a community that understands what you're going through.

((((Big hug))))

I hope you check out the friends and family section.

I am sorry you are dealing with all of that. There is a wonderful friends and family section on this forum, and I know lots of people will be around to offer advice, or to just listen.

Yes, check out the Family and Friends forum where people understand.

It's OK to not say anything at AlAnon in the beginning, you don't have to say anything ever, if you don't want. The fact that you are turning up seeking solutions and posting here, means you will have people around you who "get it", and solid support is vital. You'll get that here.

It must have come as a real shock to learn this after 20 years, but yes, it happens. I am so sorry, and wish you all of the very best.

Welcome imsos,

Share here.... It helps.

I don't share much at AA meetings either. It is hard to do f2f. Tears flow.

The same people talk at every meeting I go to. The rest listen and nod.
