Calming down.

Hi all.Just to say that reading everyones threads and the supportive replies, plus posting my own stuff is helping me so much.No longer feel like rushing around and keeping out of the house really helps with negative thoughts.Sober for just over a month now and can truely say that I haven't had a single craving. But wasn't prepared for the anxiety etc.Didn't know that our brains are going through, coping without alcohol.I have done some research and knowledge and understanding is helpful.Anyhow, you are all a true lifeline.

Glad you are here! I have found a good place in SR. I got this from someone else on the sight and it was very informative for me- some of this I knew from other reading and sources but this added to that-

good on ya! I rmemeber somewhere early having SERIOUS anxiety, which for me was/is fear. I thought it was brought on by getting sober.
while lookin back over my life, I saw I had the problem before I ever picked up my 1st drink.

Great job! Takes a while for the whole nervous system to normalize! No cravings is a true blessing! Glad you found this board, it has been helpful to me! Personally AA has also been wonderful for recovery. Have a great day!!

Nice job on a month Jojay. Ah yes, the anxiety thing. If you're anything like me you were probably an anxious person before you started drinking. Alcohol was like anxiety medication for me. Only problem is, in the end the thing you're trying to cure is made worse by the medicine you're taking. I would have made a terrible Doctor... 😜

I've been sober for a month and also dealing with anxiety. It is normal in early sobriety. I have suspicions that I may have an anxiety disorder but I'll never know until I get some long term sobriety
