26 days
Hi!
happy, clear headed and healthier to report that I am 26 days sober.
I am using a abstinence method, but am considering after a long talk with God and family, that I may enter moderation training. But I am so grateful to have that choice!!!
My last drinking episode was a black-out confrontation with a family member in which we were just starting to mend ways. I have asked for forgiveness (which has not happened). Alcohol was a tool to deal with suppressed anger, sadness and a deep feeling of being unlovable. I think its best to find other ways!
Thanks for listening!

Congrats on 26 days. That is great.
So God and your family suggested training to moderate your drinking? Just trying to understand. I've never heard of moderation training. What is it? How does it work? Why do you think you now have a choice? Probably really stupid questions I guess I just don't understand the thinking.

Now that I am clear thinking I can review different treatment options, such as abstinence or moderation training and I can take my time and discuss options with family and God.
Moderation is a treatment program in which you learn to moderate drinking (2 drinks) rather than engaging in abstinence. I have found a local treatment provider.
I am leaning towards abstinence.

Congrats on 26 days. I associate training with almost anything other than getting intoxicated. Sorry. Why would one want to "train" themselves to drink? If you are an alcoholic, 2 drinks is a waste of time. Better just to abstain, like you mentioned.
