Sad Day...my Grandma died

She passed late last night, after having another stroke and developing pneumonia (again). I wasn't there when it happened, but I was able to be with her yesterday for about half the day. Grateful for whatever time I could spend with her, and for being able to do a few little things for her while I was there, holding her hand, moistening her mouth, getting her an extra blanket cause she was cold.
So glad that I've been sober these few months, or I can't imagine how I'd have been during this whole experience. Probably would have avoided it altogether, used it as an excuse to get hammered and felt even worse now. I'm sad, but I will be ok. And I won't drink today

I'm glad you were able to spend some time with her. I'm sure she was warmed by your love.

I'm very sorry for your loss; I was very close with my grandmother too. So wonderful that you could be with her sober and I"m sure she would be very proud of you.

Am so sorry for your loss ...i lost my grandma a month ago she had dementia and lived until she was 92 ...was able to be there for my mum at the funeral

I am sorry for your loss.
My own much-loved Grandmother passed away last July and I know how difficult it is. I can't believe it has been nearly a year. Where does the time go?
