JimmyC hello
Hello I've been a problem drinker for around 4 years now however I didn't realise until around a year ago. Since I realised it's been worse than ever, regularly exceeding 20 units a day, some days up to 35+ (weekends). I've been to the doctors on a number of occasions and I find myself going back again Saturday for the same thing. This time it feels like I'm starting to withdraw, very shakey, sweaty yet cold, disoriented confused etc.
I stopped today after this regular amount, I attended a local support group last night and I'm dead serious now about getting dry. It's already straining family relationships and it's affecting my new job having had to call in sick so as not to drive and risk my licence being taken away and potentially hurting innocent others.
I'm trying to reach out to whatever support may be there, so hello guys, I look forward to my stay.
Thanks.

Welcome to SR Jimmyc and congratulations on quitting
Your symptoms are common in withdrawal and though unpleasant they are not dangerous but should they persist then a trip to the Dr's might be needed just to be on the safe side

Welcome aboard. Booze is a drug. We are all addicts.
This place saved my life. Check the stickies for what to expect.
Once the physical got better, the mental anguish persisted.
The AV in me lurks like the tide.
