Starting over.
Truth be told, I've been here before. (Sober Recovery).
I'm at a place in my life where I'm ready to do everything differently. Whatever it takes to stay sober.
I got a new home group, got a new sponsor, and created a new account here - I hope that doesn’t offend anyone – I just want absolutely everything to look different this time, and this is going to be the start of my new journey!
Most of all what needs to change is within me, I realize that. But I figure those things I listed above is a good start. I'm already feeling different as a result.
My sober date is May 25, 2016.
My plan for the immediate future?
1) Attend a recovery meeting every day.
2) Check out my first SMART recovery meeting tonight (I’ve never attended that before - only AA).
3) Meet with my (new) addictions counselor once every 2 weeks.
4) CALL (not text) somebody in recovery every single day.
5) Check into SR every single day, just to be accountable somewhere.
6) Get enough sleep and take care of myself physically, so I don’t fall into HALT.
I’m feeling pretty positive about this! Time to go browse the threads and get re-connected.
Happy 24 hours to each and every one of you!

Welcome (back). It sounds like you have a good plan and you are off to a great start.
May I suggest that you not only check in at SR, but that you continue to post and let us know how things are going. If you are struggling, maybe we can help. If you are succeeding, others will learn from and be inspired by your progress.
Good luck. We are pulling for you.
