Back Again

The reason I asked really was to encourage you to post here more. I think you'd get a lot out of being a regular poster here

"but will try again"
The most important words in your post!
I'm so glad you're back. Do you have a plan of combat the next time you feel like drinking? Come here and post, do anything, drinking is not an option.
Never give up, never.

Figure out what you will do when tempted--exercise? movie?
hiking?
I joined a gym and started cooking healthy food--that kept me acting
in a positive way and distracted me from the boring stretches I used to drink in.
Good luck Ian and irishguy

Hi Ian,
Welcome back!! I have also had many day ones, and after attempting moderation (unsuccessfully) a few times I would find myself back to square one.
January 1st I committed to make this the first of many sober years. SR, particularly the January class has been my biggest support. I read and post several times a day. Reading about successes and struggles has allowed me to continue to add to my recovery plan. I also love the incredible support I receive from SR members, and when someone else is struggling I get to be that support for them.
Dee's link is a great one. Why don't you spend some time today reading and posting and jot down some ideas that will work for you. Also, make sure you have something planned for whatever your "witching hour," was. Mine was around 6:00, I knew I needed to plan to go for a walk, read, exercise, bubble bath, do something with the kids, I just needed to be busy.
Looking forward to hearing about your journey!!
❤️ Delilah
