25 Weeks
25 Weeks
I am now 25 weeks sober. Had my counseling session this past Friday. We discussed my thoughts on the recovery journey so far. It has been hard - the daily effort people don't see can be taxing sometimes. But the benefits I have experience so far are way worth it.
We also discussed my 'higher purpose' - I suppose it is now to be a better person, dad, husband, friend. I am not one to judge or impose my sobriety journey on anyone but if anyone where to ask or want to discuss I would be more than happy to accommodate. I get so focused on the day to day battle that it was good to think of things from a bigger perspective.
Keep to your plans folks, we can do this!

Brilliant
Tomorrow I'm too 25 weeks sober.. I can relate so much to the day to day battle... My hardest part is trying to find things to do to combat the boredom. Before my sobriety if I felt bored I'd just crack open a bottle or can and hey job done.. But when I look at it now I feel a right mug for taking the easy way out all those times.. It is getting easier and I do get a right buzz staying sober.. When I look at things like my work and my concentration I'm doing so much better and its things like that that keep me going.

Congratulations on your six months and one week. Absolutely fantastic.

Amen. I do get a "right buzz" from being sober - It's not always easy, but there are some days when you're just clicking right along, full of enthusiasm, sparking new ideas out of your formerly marinated brain cells, that it is definitely like being "high" but in such a better way.
