A Newcoming Comment
Newcomer to this forum. I am a senior lady who has worked almost all the years since I was 16 years old. My drinking was in reaction to severe survival stress at times in my life, and then of course became worse as I aged. Fortunately I do have hobbies that are rewarding, gardening and art, so these help. Am in 2 weeks recovery. Glad to join everyone on this great site!
Welcome printemps!!!
You have landed in a wonderful place, here at SR!
I am 57 yrs and have been in recovery for 1 yr and 4 1/2 mths (but, hey, who is counting ) Part of my plan has been reading daily at SR and posting, as well.
I look forward to hearing more about you and your journey.

Welcome! lots of seniors here. It's never too late to have a happy and rewarding life. I got sober 10 months ago at age 66. I had almost given up on life and myself and wanted to die. A new world will open up for you on your sober journey!

Thanks to all for welcome!
Very happy to have found this site! So far so good on my path to sobriety. I also have (finally) joined a church that I've visited now and then in the past, and am very happy for that spiritual community and connection also.
Looking forward to learning more from everyone, and sharing also.

Welcome, printemps - beautifully apt name for recovery!
I personally always feel chuffed to see another one of us (cough) seniors getting sober. There are more of us out there than people think or realise, though it's getting more and more press in recent coupla years.
I'm 60, and on day 58 today (after God knows how many previous relapses).
'The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step' keeps me (slightly) sane.
