Urgh :(
Urgh :(
I'm so tired today, it's so busy at work and I barely slept last night.
I've been eating sugar and caffeine all day and the crashes are making me listen to my AV!
You know all the normal blahhhhhhhh
That I "deserve" a drink tonight and it will help me sleep blah blah!
I still have another 5 hours of work to go.
Urgh!
It was only just over a month ago that I used to feel like this but worse every day.
I don't think I will drink - but I just wanted to write it down just in case!

How many days are you at now over40?
I posted a few times about how much I missed sleep. It got really intense ha ha.
My little beagle kept me company in the wee hours. To add insult to injury, half the time I'd be standing like a crazy person in the kitchen wolfing down cookies at 2am.
To think at first I thought any extra weight would evaporate ha ha ha ha
Anyway HANG IN THERE my sleep is normalizing now - you'll feel better sleep wise very soon.

Coming here to write it down is a good move overforty. We all have bad days, that's just part of life - It's how we deal with them that makes the difference. Glad you decided to write it out instead of drink.
All the sugar and caffeine could definitely be causing some problems. I found that I'm overly hyper-sensitive to caffeine now and I've removed it almost completely from my consumption. Eating well and drinking water can help stabilize the ups and downs, so can just taking a walk to bet the blood flowing.

Play the tape through, overforty! All the way to the end. That helped me a lot in the first weeks and was something I learned right here on SR.
Think about where that drink will end. One drink will quickly become way too many drinks, and then how will you feel tomorrow, when you wake up feeling terrible, hungover, and disappointed with yourself?
What you really deserve is to head home, go easy on yourself, have a soothing cup of herbal tea or something similarly calming, unwind and take yourself to bed for a proper rest.
You can do this!

Thanks for the replies
I'm only on day 34 and I'm exhausted from waving in and out of different emotions every hour of every day!
But to be honest I was like this when I was drinking too!
I think I'm getting ill
I have got a sore throat!
And the irony is I very rarely got ill when I was drinking!
Maybe one cold a year if that

The joys of waking up without hangover will never get old
Thanks Miss Perfumado - I did play the tape till the end and had some herbal tea and a fantastic nights sleep
Dee - you are probably right about just not noticing being sick.
I used to drink through everything.
Madgirl - I'm on day 35 and wish I had a little beagle to help me through
The cookies / cheesecake will have to do
Yes I'm a crazy person too!
I'm so grateful for every morning I wake up hangover free - even if I am sick I feel better than I would have after 2 bottles of wine!
Big hugs to everyone

Work can be stressful and so can feeling like you need more sleep. Make sure you continue to be honest with yourself, drinking will actually make the quality of your sleep poor, you will end up waking up hung over making work harder the next day, also one drink will turn into many drinks and sometimes when we relapse we never regain our sobriety or our recovery. Is that worth it? I know you know it isn't, that is why you posted here and are keeping yourself accountable.
Keep pushing forward, you can do this! Work can be a trigger, but you can overcome this and any other stresses and triggers that come in the future!
