Had 60 days yesterday. Tomorrow is family get together. I've posted some how they get under my skin. I'm sure my mother and aunt will be drinking. It will be testing but trying to remember it's not about me. And don't want to blow 2 months over something I have no control over. I've let my recover lapse of late. I need to pick it back up so I'm better prepared for these situations.

You can't let other people control your sobriety. I am only 10 days sober and everyone who has made it longer is someone I look up to and say I can't wait to make it their myself! Keep strong!

Congrats on 60 days, bluedog97! Remember that these forums are here 24 hours a day. If you've got a smartphone they are always in your pocket. Come put out an SOS here if those thoughts get to be too much. Sometimes it helps to just get them out of our own head. Wishing you the best....

Well I made it through. Am I angry? Not gonna lie, yes. Are they worth getting drunk over? No! Although the thought of quieting the thoughts and melting away these emotions with a 12 pack has crossed my mind. But it's not worth it, right?

Thanks Dee. Today has been very hard. I feel old family wounds resurfaced. There's a part of me that feels 14 years old again. It's difficult. I'm determined to make it through.
