AA Meeting tonight
I've been very reluctant to go to a meeting. I finally did tonight. I was the only female, but after wards an older gentleman told me usually there are at least 3 there. I liked him a lot. I could identify with a lot of what he said. He gave me the email address for a lady who has about 20 years sober to contact. (He didn't have her phone number.)
Even though I still have a lot of anxiety about going to AA and even emailing that lady (which I did pretty quickly so I wouldn't lose my nerve), I am going to give it a try. I need to be around real live people. I love SR, but for me personally the loneliness is so hard.
One more day down. Tomorrow is a new day and I hope & pray emotionally it is a better day.

Congrats to you for taking a big step forward in your recovery, Sinderos. Two big steps really--going to the meeting and sending that email.
SR is my primary source of support in my recovery but I definitely use a steady diet of AA meetings and fellowship as well. Anything to keep me on this road.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Hopefully you'll inspire someone else who is on the fence re: attending a recovery meeting to do so.

Fantastic, your doing a great job breaking the ice with AA. I too needed AA to get sober. After 1 1/2 yrs of sobriety I discovered Sober Recovery. They both are very power tools to stay sober. I'd recommend you use both.
That's great!! I'm so glad you went!! Any hour you spend in a meeting is an hour of progress!! I'm glad you talked to the gentleman, good stuff. Please let us know when you connect with the lady!
I go to a lot of meetings and I'm always on SR! They're both very important tools in my recovery!
