On holiday

So i'm away for a week. Everyone is drinking, I'm not and you know what? I'm good with that. While everyone is asleep (hungover) I'm walking by the beach.
I forgot my gratitude journal but still practising it in my head during my early walks and having the best days. It can be done and i'm thinking I'm so lucky to be experiencing life sober.
Catch y'all later. Limited wifi x

Thanks for sharing - something I keep dwelling on although getting my head round it better in anticipation of our summer hol (still 3 months away) - reading that you are doing it and enjoying it to the full is re-assuring and good to hear.

Keep it up and have a great time.

I think most people associate holiday with alcohol and relaxation tbh but yes i did the same and envisaged what i'd do instead before we went away.
Honestly i do feel a little like a pariah so i'm having a couple of soda waters with the group but then taking myself off and doing other stuff. Its so nice sitting and enjoying breakfast instead of looking at it sickly.
You can definitely do this!

Sounds like a plan taking yourself off and doing other things and a good idea regarding envisaging other things to do of which I know there are plenty (same hotel we have visited previously) - it is definitely the association that's the problem.

Focusing on the positives of enjoying time with the family / swimming and other sports / great food and relaxing in the sun with a clear head - I like the thought of actually enjoying breakfast instead of waiting for the bar to open to feel right again.

Ps. love your signature too.

This is very inspiring! Stay strong and focused on the nature around you. I'm on week 2 of sobriety and week 3 will be on vacay. It's good to know it's doable!

It is so much better to enjoy a sober vacation than to waste it all to drinking, being drunk or hungover. Good for you!
