23 Weeks

I am at 23 weeks sober now. I have a counseling session this Friday. Still focusing on hitting daily and weekly fitness goals.

I do backyard BBQ competitions and this past weekend was our first event since I quit drinking. Normally this would be a 2 day continuous drinking fest but I made it through no problem. My AV sounded up just once out of old habit when setting up our space but that was it. Given that we placed in all categories and ended up placing 3rd overall, I'd say not drinking will be a good thing going forward with these competitions.

Keep to your plans - we can do this folks!

well done!!

(and I'm not talking about the BBQ.... nobody wants a well done piece of meat... c'mon!!)

But seriously - way to go! 23 weeks and the milestone of a former binge-environment in sobriety. These are fantastic victories and I wish you ever-deepening life in clarity and lucidity. Sober... that's the way.

Congratulations on 23 weeks and doing well in the competition.

Unlike FreeOwl I would probably eat myself silly at one of those things.

Excellent work, Iron Phoenix.

As an amateur backyard BBQ'er, I would love to see the recipe/techniques that helped you win. I am limited to a gas grill (I don't own a smoker) but I would still love to see what I am capable of.

Care to share any of your secrets of success?
