So I'm very proud of myself that not only am I 54 days sober but I am on holiday in a sunny country all by myself and have resisted my AV. I have huge anxiety, bi polar depression and physical problems and am hugely shy. I went for a walk today and got back to the hotel safely, this is encouraging as my first walk of only 5 mins took me 45 minutes to get back. I even spoke to a couple of ladies in the spa I went to- ok not exactly Don Juan but a good start in normal conversation.
I eventually retreated from the spa when 5 German men decided to get their dangly bits out in the sauna and I didn't want to be put off my dinner.
I have a lot more thoughts lately about moderation and I'm not really sure why as I'm not really missing drinking, although walking past a bar earlier I saw a dry blackthorn sign, if it had been strongbow I'm not sure if I would have succumbed.
Logically, I suppose it's just getting used to a new situation where I am for the first time sober- and holidays used to be for drinking unless of course I was with my family then maximum of a couple of pints a night.
I'm looking forward to a few more days sun and a lot more water to drink- incidentally on a plus side not drinking will prob save me between £300 and £500 this week which is why I have had two lovely massages so far.
