Does anyone just pinch themselves sometimes?!
I find myself so freaking thankful lately-so incredibly thankful. I almost feel like pinching myself to make sure it's real. Do I miss my ex husband sometimes? Sure do. Don't think that will ever go away and that's ok. There was so much good in him-I think all of us can say that about our exs lost to addiction and other things. But it's real-I did it -I got out. I got my kids out. Just feeling very blessed to not be living my life around an alcoholic anymore. Physically, emotionally and mentally. Home life is a million times better. Good enough to pinch myself to make sure it's real. It is!!!
Just so greatful to know each of you and be traveling this road with y'all.
Cheers, y'all!

This gives me the grins to read FOG.
My journey has been a bit different but I will say there are so many people I'm glad I'm not waking up next to or coming home to. I think of this as a kind of inside-out-gratitude.

^ I hated coming home to him as much as he hated coming home to me. He knew I would get on to him about drinking/being drunk so he hated coming home to me-and I hated coming home to him bc I knew the inevitable was just one drink away and my skin would crawl each time he lied to me, literally. What a mess and tragedy. You live and learn-eyes wide open now and never dating an addict again-and not living my life as a Codie either! Work in progress on both things
Inside out gratitude for sure, friend.
