For months and months I have typically woken on a Tuesday morning very hungover and wretched. Feeling sorry for myself and completely self absorbed.

Instead, this morning I woke early to the exciting news that my sister was in labour. Because I did NOT drink last night, I woke clear headed and able to be fully present to my sister's news and needs.

How different it would have been if I'd been drinking last night.

Hi! I used to wake up full of shame, remorse and guilt. Happy dogs jumping all over me didn't even help, I felt sorry for them. Yes, sober, the best way to start the day!
