Everything hidden: a life of shame

Might be the perfect title for the book of a drunk's life.

Says me.

Still trying.

Yes, it's awful what alcoholism does to our mental state. And, it's one of the things that keeps us hooked. Have faith that you will be able to get through dealing with the shame and negative emotions. You will be able to move on to live a good life. Keep trying!

There's another book, with a different ending. The hero is a ex-drunk in recovery.

You can write it, starting today.

Redemption from a Life of Shame, guilt and remorse - a recovered alcoholics story.

I prefer this title!

Change is indeed possible for those who are ready, willing and take action - today.

Welcome back, Buddy.

I hid my **** for decades. It was easy at first; 6-pack here, a few drinks there. By the end it became impossible to hide. I had no limits. I had no boundaries.

Get out from under this now. It will never be any easier than today.

You can do this.

You can break this cycle LG. Dig deep to find your motivation, make your plan and commit to not drinking no matter what life throws at you.

When I look in the mirror I can say with certainty, "I'm not that person anymore."

It takes time and effort but it can be done

Sober 37 days...

Am going to post a separate thread but for some reason SR is rejecting that post. Figured I'd re-up my most recent post and another from the past, just to give some hope.

Thanks to everyone here, whether you know it or not - you've all contributed to my beating back the beast.
