So I found this place a few days ago and was 4 days into sobriety. On day 5, yesterday, I slipped.
A couple of things I've learned:
1) My AV, which I've decided to name Norma, is conniving and manipulative.
2) it's easier to stay sober if I'm super busy
3) if I am going to be successful, I'm going to have to fess up to the important people in my life. I'm not there yet but I'm working up it.
4) even though I slipped last night, I was able to stop myself rather than drinking until I passed out. Baby steps.
5) today is a new day. I have been able to keep Norma at bay with only a little focus.
Tomorrow is my second Day 2. I can't plan too far in advance but I know I won't be drinking tonight.

Good Job, BBB and you too, hopefull24.
Those are some good observations. Being busy and changing my routine was important for me especially the first few weeks.
Very early on, I told only a few people who already knew about my problems. I still have not told anyone else. (I'm at 14 months).
Keep posting and let us know how you are.
