Been drinking again, going to stop soon.

Hi folks once again back here on SR.
I actually took an embarrassing drunken video of myself and put it on youtube, actually it's not that bad so you can just watch it.
Keep on keeping on!

I'm not going to watch it UB.
Watching it obviously is not enough to stop you drinking.

I'd ask you to be responsible tho and be mindful of triggering others, ok?

So..how soon is soon?
Why not today, man?

Did you have 18 entire months of sobriety previously? That's what your old threads say.

You said in one that you were recovered, and happy to be your old self. Why throw it away?

Dee: Sorry if this material is triggering, I promise to be more mindful from now on.

Sleepie: Yes I had more like 20 months of sobriety.

Thanks for the replies and support. I'm actually drinking for the reason that it accelerates the cannabis detox process, and I use it for that, and intend to stop drinking pretty soon. Within a week or so. Anyway thanks everyone.

Ok how about now, like switch to water.
You knew people were going to give you this kind of advice here- like pour it out etc. so I have to think part of you wants to do just that, so go on...

OK based on comments I had to watch the video.

Video of you drinking and playing with knives is not appropriate here . C'mon, man...

One of the things I learned in rehab was that a common trait that nearly all alcoholics and addicts share is the idea of putting off things. Everything can be done tomorrow, or later, or next week. We pay bills late, we'll quit drinking tomorrow, we'll call the doctor after the weekend. We put off and put off and putt of and are masters at putting anything and everything off in order to not actually have to deal with it.
Instead of quitting "pretty soon" how about putting of that next drink until tomorrow or the next week or "pretty soon" and just quitting today.

I have to admit, this is very off-putting. Why are you posting this?

Yes, I think that image is also inappropriate.

I don't get the sense you're asking for help here, UnixBer.

I think the best thing for you would be to log off and go to bed - but if you want to keep posting, stick to text - please no more images or personal you tubes.

Dee, would it be too much to ask to remove the image with the beer bottle as well? This is sort of my sanctuary, and although people write about drinking here, it is so much more powerful to see it. I'm sorry if I am asking too much.

No need, it would probably just remind me of my old drunken self in the old days. Posting ourselves on the Internet when not at our best many times later on will haunt us.
Be sober and think clearly.

It's difficult to know where the line is but I'm/we're always responsive when people are triggered.

I've removed that image as well.

Speaking with Unixber off-thread. I've had his full cooperation and understanding with this

To the OP -- you are an addict, like me, right? Why were/are you using MJ? Or any mind altering drug for that matter?

I would take that video down and stash it away until you need it to remind you of why you had 20 months of Sobriety at one point.

I was always going to quit tomorrow but then I realized it was today. This thinking went on for 20 years.

One day I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. That was the last day I drank
