Need some positive right now
So day 11 started off in the toilet, worked last night and early this morning had a call for a kid who was suicidal, college kid, mom called in frantic, outcome was bad when we got there, the urge to get a drink has been VERY strong, I have not given in, and telling my AV to back the heck off, just need some positive words right now

Im definitely working on coping, just a very difficult call. Being a Mom, I couldn't begin to know what I would do if I found what she did.

I passed the store on the way home this morning, I am proud of that, and reachd out here before taking that ride to the store this afternoon. Thinking I might visit with my son tonight

Thats must have been very stressful for you, life - I'm sorry.
You learn to deal with stuff like this tho - instead of running away to the bottle, we learn...we may not do it terribly gracefully the first few times, but each time we get through some extreme stress it gets easier.
I never knew my capacity for dealing with stuff until I started to deal with stuff
Use your support system - lean on that support. Be grateful you were around and 'present' to help others in that situation.
You stayed sober despite the AV and the urges - you did tremendously well

Dee, those words mean the world to me. I went and visited my son and grandaughter for a little bit and that left me feeling way better than ANY bottle ever could. God Bless you all for being here too, you guys all feel like family....
