I drank tonight after 2 days of not drinking. Tomorrow morning my 2 year old will walk in at 6:30 am and happily say "good morrrninng" and my first thought will not be happiness. And I'll start my day with regret, read this post, and remember how good it felt the last 2 days to wake up with abundance instead of guilt.
Tomorrow can be your last Day One, David. Wouldn't that feel good?
Have you joined the SR Class of April '16? The monthly classes here are a great way to connect with others, give and receive support, and build accountability. Posting here everyday, too, can be a solid way to work on becoming sober.

For many of us, it took a couple of tries. You got through two days and that had to feel good. Venecia has a good point: tomorrow can be your last day 1 ever.
For now, just get through tomorrow and wake up sober for you and your child the next morning.
Keep posting and checking in here so we will know how you are.

Hi David, I had many day ones, and vowed that January 1st would be my last Day one. SR, particularly the January class has been my biggest support. You should definitely join the April class.
Looking forward to seeing you on here for your new (and hopefully last) Day One tomorrow.

Have you made a plan? If so, try to think what went wrong last night? Did you follow your plan yesterday? Does something new need adding?
If you haven't got a plan, I'd suggest making one. This sobriety thing doesn't just happen because on its own. We need to engage with it and work on it.
Have you considered AA or similar? There's a lot of support out there if you go get it.
Wishing you all the best for your recovery.

Keep trying! I'd give anything to get back the formative years of my 2 little boys but I missed out because I was mostly drunk. The biggest regret of my life. We stop for ourselves but those little ones sure are an incentive.
David - everyone is asking about your plan because it provides you a framework to help keep you accountable instead of just grasping at air. Plans are unique to everyone but getting one in place vastly increases your chances of success.
General counseling sessions, AA if that is your thing, checking in here often, commit to a new hobby/fitness, change your daily routine around 'drinking times', etc...
