Day 3... tell me this gets easier

Looking for some motivation right now from my fellow recovers as although my anxiety isnt too terrible, i just cant occupy my mind with anything and feel like i'm going nuts. I've spent day cycling from video games to movies spending no longer than 15 minutes before changing it up because i just cant focus. To make matters worse i'm preparing for a colonoscopy tomorrow so cant sleep early and am constantly running to the loo (gross i know sorry). Can someone shed some light on how they spent the early days to help me through this?
Lots of love x

I think you're exactly where most of us would be on day 3 and facing a colonoscopy tomorrow Dim.

Things will get better - there's be noone here if that wasn't true.

Hope you get the all clear on the colonoscopy too

It gets better. I promise. This is the worst part. But remember, this is the last time you'll have to do this. You have done one very good thing today, you reached out here. Stay here if you feel anxious. Read all the posts that you find, comment on people's progress, stay away from the relapse threads, come to the chat room. Go for a walk, talk to a friend, watch TV shows on Netflix (choose the ones with 20 minute episodes, you can manage 20 minutes). Eat, drink water, have a cup of coffee and feel the warmth from the cup, enjoy the smell... Anything but drinking alcohol. Time will pass, and eventually you become stronger, more able to deal with this. You are going to make it!

Thanks for asking opal blue. My anxiety is not too bad. My bodies a little achy, legs in particular and kind of in a daze and a bit foggy. Hoping its not neuropathy and just body aches from the poison i put in my body.

Anxiety is quite normal during withdrawal. Stay sober and it will get better.

It gets easier.

But far better than 'easier'....

It gets AWESOME.

Hang in there.... this is the most worthy thing you've ever chosen.

I think that you will notice a positive difference on Day 4 and 5. Day 3 seems to be a really tough one for many people.

There are many milestones along the way, day 3 is one of them. Keep going, it absolutely does get better and every day is a little easier.

Woke up to day 4 with a pretty broken sleep but thankfully not too bad anxiety. One thing i've noticed is my feet get hot and bothered both late at night and early in the morning? Visited the doctor yesterday and she did some tests and i've got full feeling and no numbness. Anyone experienced this? Its particularly prominent on the soles of my feet and driving me a little nuts.
Thanks everyone for the ongoing support. You truly are a godsend x
