So, it's hard to believe I've made it this far. I started may 30th and had 20, 7, 13, 3, etc continuous days. Then somehow things clicked. Not sure how or why. I do know I had the desire to get to 30 days. I think I hit the 20s three times and finally I just said to myself I'm hitting 30.
So, what info do I have to share in getting sober. It does get easier. I still think about drinking. There were times when I thought I was going crazy, but I just told myself if I have to go to a mental institution at least I can tell them I'm sober for so many days. Life does get better. It's really nice not feeling like complete crap when you wake up. Your self respect and confidence crawls back into you and that's a great thing.
I would just tell people that are struggling not to give up. And I also went to AA meetings. I was scared at first, but find most of the people to be very nice and they've all been there before so it's helpful to hear their stories.
