day 4
Well it's the beginning of day 4...I sit here thinking about my day and normally when I get a day off work I would run out to the liquor store a few times during the day and sleep inbetween. Spending at least 20.00 each time.......Today I have to run some errands and I do not do not want to drink.....4 days is a big deal for me right now and I want to get through it sober.....I will drive a different route to the store today and bypass the normal vodka stops.....feeling a little stronger but cautious....I will check in again after the errands.....

In the early days I found it useful to replace the drinking with something else, something nice to eat, a luxury soft drink, a film to watch, a friend to see / help out............
hope this is useful.
Good luck xx

Congratulations on four days.
That was always the killer day for me. Hangover gone, feeling better and have the withdrawal over. So be careful
You've got a plan, which is great. Just remember, you never have to drink again.

Well back from my errands.....Took a route about 5 miles out of my way but didn't have to drive by my favorite store....I suppose I should feel proud and happy but mostly it was just sad. I just kept thinking I want to get home and let you all know I didn't screw it up.....
I totally get you on this seaside. I have had to change my dog walking route as the one I normally use has a pub on the corner and the dog automatically runs into it!!!
Well done, are you day 5 now?

This will get easier seaside--just do whatever you have to do right now
to get through these first days and weeks.
Eventually, not drinking becomes the "norm" and you will feel more positive.
Change is often difficult and can make us sad--I felt sad at first too.
Now, I'm much happier overall so it was worth it.
