Day 1 -again 😔
Day 1 -again 😔
Trying to quit- again. The longest I've ever made it was three months 5 1/2 years ago.
I'd sincerely appreciate any words of wisdom and support anyone wouldn't mind sharing.
Are there online meetings I can attend?
Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Second bit of advice. Accept you can never, ever, drink again. Commit to sobriety, and do everything you can to support that decision.
Good luck.

SR and my wife are my only support. It has worked. I don't have any magical solution other than just dive in head first and don't look back. If you have a smartphone, you can take us with you everywhere you go and can post BEFORE you are tempted to drink. I believe I have done that twice and both times it worked. You can do it, and I wish you the very best.
It's a good idea to build a sobriety plan -- one which addresses how you will stay sober daily, how you will build the support network we all need, contingencies in the event of emergency, and so on.
I'm on my phone and cannot link to Dee74's "Psst--wanna know why I always recommend a plan" thread, but search for it. It has great advice in it.

What worked for me is joining with the monthly support thread. There is one here started for April 2016. Post everyday, and you will feel the support from the other members as you all will be going through the same ups and downs with your recovery. I also kept a binder of notes, affirmations, quotes, and print outs of everything I found that would keep me from drinking again. I read it everyday, and added to it everyday for months! Write down why you drank, what drove you to the bottle, and when you drank, and then change from there. Write down what drinking is taking away from you, what drinking is preventing you from doing, but most important, write down who you want to be as a sober person. Strive to be that person everyday, and trust me, you will become that person.
Welcome, having a plan is definitely key. I struggled at 90 days in the last as well, however, this time has been different, I have really stick to my plan, and SR has been a huge part of it. Read and post, join the April class, journal, exercise, write down your plan and stick with it.
I am 95 days sober today and plan on continuing on this recovery journey. It would be great to have you along on it as well!

I think balance is so important and your suggestion of meditation is a good one, also exercise of some kind.
