Hello 'again'!
I'm so sorry to hear about your second child getting so derailed!!! I'm afraid I know nothing about abusing Xanax (Zanax?), but here is a thread from the Substance Abuse forum in which someone talks about their struggle with it. It might help to have some idea. I think it's label use is for 'nerves and anxiety'.

The worst thing feel that is most often done is not confront it with no excuses in your head! I know my biggest down fall with my sons dad was not confronting it with no excuses and that led me into using again in hopes he would see what he was doing to us. if I couldn't change it I was going to use it. Idk Me personally I cant live in doubt or limbo. It drives me nuts to doubt what I know because I want so badly to believe them. the fear of loosing some one or not knowing how to support them with out loosing your self is very hard. I cant truly say this will help or say I know what your going threw cause I don't, I can only relate by my experiences. in my experience I find a confident direct I don't give a **** how this is going to make you feel is the best way. Only because addiction can turn quickly from worse to really bad not acting on fact for fact because of emotion only jeopardizes not only #2 but #1
Do your research. Xanax is a highly addictive benzo. When abused or combined with alcohol/drugs is deadly. It is Rx only, but widely available on the street. Kids commonly steal it from parents/grandparents and sell it.
My XAH abuses Xanax (mixes with alcohol). He has done some scary things. It will cause you blackout times that you do not recall at all. It can cause you to be violent and make very bad choices and remember nothing.
It's commonly used to treat panic attacks (that is it's valid use for those not abusing it). Classed as a benzo, it's not smart to stop using it cold turkey, the withdraw could be severe depending on use.
Hope any of this helps. I am so sorry for what brings you back here, but know we support you!
