DAY 3! Can't believe it!
I cannot tell you how many years it's been since I've gone 3 whole days without alcohol. Probably since I was pregnant with my youngest son nearly 15 yrs ago. Yesterday and last night were tough though because I live in Colorado, and we had a blizzard. I usually drink those kind of days away. But...I didn't. I've had the same horrible headache for these last few days along with weird itchiness, and the night sweats last night were SO GROSS. I thought a lot about having just one glass of wine to make me feel better, but I DIDN'T. Since I denied calling myself an alcoholic all this time, it seems silly to be so proud of myself...but I am.
I feel this forum has a lot to do with my success yesterday. I stumbled across you all trying to find answers to detox questions and felt immediately at home. Thanks for sharing your stories and all the kind words of encouragement and support you give to each other.

Welcome to SR peekaboo! Well done on getting through 3 days. The physical withdrawal will pass soon enough, if it's causing any concern I would recommend seeing a doctor. Definitely don't drink on it. Keep us updated.
You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

Isn't it awesome as you start to rack up those first days? It's amazing as you see your body detox, and start to heal while to poison gets out of your system.
Today is 73 days for me, which I never would have dreamed could happen after daily drinking for 25 years! It never gets cold! It's just amazing!
Savor and enjoy the feeling. It only gets better and better.

Day 3 for me also - even though I slept poorly had weird dreams and those awful sweats - I had no hangover or paranoia. Going to work worried folk can smell the booze fumes , eyes like saucers. Give me this anyday. I can't wait til this wee tough but is over . Good luck on day 4
