How to use this site?
Sorry to appear a bit thick but I couldn't figure out how to use the forums etc and things like threads and so on I suppose a better way to deal with it would have been to ask for help to ask for help. So much information out there and a lot of it conflicting. All I want i some honest answers, they don't have to be pretty. Thanks
Hi Tootla - I've moved your post to it's own thread for more response for you.
If you want to start your own thread there's instructions here:

what kind of questions do you want these honest answers to?

It is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. A lot of people just read other threads to get information. Other people start their own threads to talk about something they want to talk about or get help with. Often people post in a moment of crisis when they are having a bad craving and are afraid they will drink but want help to avoid choosing to do so. I think most people have a look around for a while before they start actively participating. So don't feel bad if you just read around for a bit. The Newcomers section seems to be the most active, but for the most part deals with alcohol addiction. There are other sections for various drug addictions and a space for family and friends of alcoholics. take your time, we are happy to have you here and help in any way.

Good luck.
Welcome to SR, Tootla. If you're looking to get and stay sober, I hope you'll join us in the Class of March link that doggonecarl posted above. It's a great way to learn from and help others who are newly sober.
