Hello, my first day here on the site. 2 days now into detox after a trip to the ER.
I thought I was going to die from the horrible withddrawl symptoms.I don't ever want to feel that way again..they kept me for over 12 hours on meds to stop the worst of the withdrawal symptoms and now at home staying on them to keep me stable until I can see my Doctor tommorow.
I know this is a disease, but I'm not going back to it..ever. I don't want to die, but I felt like I was going to. I want my life back..I drank most of it away. What a waste..no more for me.

Welcome to SR, I'm glad you could get that medical assistance. Alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous indeed.

The links soberwolf posted are worth checking out, having a plan in early recovery is definitely recommended.
