Support please

Hi guys i'm looking to go sober as of today & i'm looking for some support and words of encouragement to start that. As we all know the first day is the hardest so please spare a thought for me today.
So far this month i've had 7 alcohol free days. But not in a row. I'd like to string together a long run of sobriety.
thx

What SW says. A plan is very important. Just don't drink today and start to work on that plan. You can do this!

It won't be as hard staying sober once you reach the point where you want to be sober more than you want to drink.

Have a little faith in yourself that you can do this.

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

I can assure you that the more sober days you string together, the easier it will get and the better you will feel!

It's worth it! You can do this!

Welcome!. It really does get better, and SW is giving some excellent advice on starting a plan. Read the information here to get you started. Being sober leads to great things.

Wishing you well in your plan for sobriety.

The only drink you need to worry about,is the first one, stay away from it.

Welcome, and congratulations on your decision to get sober. Today and tonight, you need to distract yourself when you have the thought of taking a drink. Just worry about the next fifteen minutes of sobriety at a time. If you have to, just worry about the next fifteen seconds at a time. You can do this. There are scores of people on this site who thought that they would never be able to be successful at finding sobriety, but they were. Keep checking back here, and post when you feel like you might be in trouble. There is as much support as you need on this forum.

What I can say is that we get some grace to get here. Might as well use it. Don't get caught up in any words or ideas that hold you back. Have a little faith that maybe you don't know everything and that's OK. Know that you're exactly where you're supposed to be. Good luck, you got this.

Somehow missed this post yesterday. Congrats on starting day 2, Sober32. I hope you'll join us in the Class of March 2016 thread here on this same forum. I've found that sharing with others who are also new to recovery is a huge help for my own recovery.

Wishing you the best today...
