Watching Cheltenham.....AV screaming!
I'm at home by the Fire watching Cheltenham and my AV is extremely present. I feel like I've gone full circle and things are really hard again. I feel tired and dull and just want to have my own private party at home watching the races! Just wanting to pep things up, I know it's all BS and my pride won't let me, but just need to vent how I feel.
The only thing drinking does reliably well is make everything worse.
Have a glass of water. Jump in the shower. Stop by the Weekenders forum and let folks know you could use some extra encouragement.
Just don't drink. (See first paragraph.)

Throw yourself a "party"...make all your favorite pig out foods...grab a gallon of your favorite ice cream...pop some popcorn...cook a dish that you truly enjoy...make it a fun time...forget the booze...that's no fun...if you are going to indulge...eat something indulgent! Chocolate cake, anyone?!
How are you doing now, zlhzlh?
Play that tape through to the end, think about how that one drink is going to lead to two or three or ten and all the worst wreckage that drinking has caused you in the past. Glad you came in here and posted--you're in my thoughts and prayers...

I've been watching our college national wrestling championships, I've had the occasional thought of running to the store. Not going to do it. What has helped me is that I've got more important things on the horizon and I won't achieve them being drunk. Hang in there, wish you the best.

Soberwolf, I have read the Urge Surfing piece, it's very helpful Thank you. The craving past and actually watching the Foxhunter race took my mind off drinking. The excitement has made me want to go out and do something!!! I am 4 months Sober on Sunday, I really really don't want to start all over again!
