1 Month - cannot believe it!!
1 Month - cannot believe it!!
Last drink February 15th. So as I head off to bed, I get to wake up knowing I made it for a full month sober for the first time in nine years. Best. News. Ever!!!
This site and all the support from SR, reading the stories, the ups and downs of the members, really makes a difference to me. So, thanks everyone!
One gripe - I read all these stories about weight loss, and although I have lost some weight, one would think I would be down a zillion lbs with all the missed calories. More work to do there, but focusing on the main goal - sobriety!!!

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

Believe it, my dear buttercup!!
You did this. Believe it, own it, take credit for it, embrace it, and keep going!
About the weight...I know, right? What the heck? How can we eliminate 118,000 calories per day from our diets and not lose weight? Sheesh, at this point, I should weigh about -74 pounds.
Well, honestly, give it some time. As you continue to stabilize and your health continues to improve (which it is, whether you notice or not), if you still want to drop a few you'll be able to do it.
My weight loss came from the excercise I do w the time and energy I have from not drinking.
It took me 1 hour to get drunk, 10 hours to be drunk and pass out, and another 10 hours for hang over. No time for the gym.
N ow that i am clean, i have at least 5 extra hours a day to get in shape...plus the energy to do it.
I went from 245 to 210 in 10 months. I was a tub of goo...now I am solid head to toe. Avoiding injury, next year is going to be even better.
Keep it up and hit the gym.
