Day 13.
I'm incredibly excited to make it to day 13. But, it's my first weekend to not be at work since I started my sober journey. I work in the service industry.. so I'm usually working during peek party hours. So it's been pretty easy to stay away from the bar scene. But today...every other thought was FILLED with meeting up with friends, day drinking, bar hopping.... I resisted and stayed at home where I knew I'd be alcohol free ... but found myself incredibly lonely and sad that I couldn't be out with my friends. Please tell me this passes... and soon... I'm not sure I can handle another saturday like this.
Hi and welcoem Project2016
yeah it gets easier
I had to build a new life tho - my old life was all about drinking and being around drinkers...building a new life takes time but I wouldn't swap a second of my life now for the way it used to be.
I'm busier than ever tho

Lonely is your addicted brain needing booze. Don't relapse. 1 beer is a relapse.
You can hang w your friends, don't drink.
When I am w my friends, some drink and some don't.
You have to get through a few months to develop sober muscles.

Good for you making the right choice to stay home tonight.
Don't worry too far ahead. As they say one day at a time. And make a plan to go to a movie with someone on the next Saturday you have off. Do you have any nieces or nephews....cousins.....mother, father...anyone that wants to go to the movie with you? Very important to stay busy! Another important thing is to EAT....I'm not saying gain tons of weight...but eating takes cravings and thoughts right away...very quickly.

I'm not sure I can still hang with my friends, most of them drink... and not just 1 or 2 ... more like 6 or 7 hours worth of booze. I have a whole buncha love for them, I'm not sure they quite understand the journey I'm on. That's depressing to think. I need to find friends that are interested in other things, but at 30 I'm sure that is going to be a little rough.
Thank you for all your input! I'm thankful for SR on nights, like tonight, when this whole sobriety thing starts to get a little fuzzy. But for now I'll enjoy my tripple chocolate browines and netflix and hope for a better, less depressing day tomorrow!

I hope you have a better day tomorrow, too.
I had to make some changes in my life to support my recovery, too. You might check out a meetup group in your area that interests you or try volunteering to meet new and sober people.
