Abnormal EKG Final Reality Check

Greetings Long Lost Comrades! Over the past 9 months I've been pregnant with the beast. Got back up to a bottle of wine every night. Baby beast said: it's ok! Life is fun! Life is short! Your blood work is coming back normal! You can still dance every day and run three miles! Wellllll. Turns out I need a hernia repair so I go in for a pre op EKG and guess what? I HAVE HAD A HEART ATTACK. Baby beast aborts once and for all. I don't drink. Ever. Forever. It's good to be back my friends.

Welcome back, WhatBeast. Time to polish that Big Plan and polish off the beast. You know the drill. Hope your surgery is routine and your recovery is quick. Keep posting, ok?

Wow, That's an eye opener. I just recently had to have hernia surgery and had an abnormal EKG. Went to the cardiologist and they said my abnormality was normal, for me, whatever that means.
Completely different life altering (nonmedical) event woke me up a few years back. Sometimes it takes a pretty hard slap in the face to wake up.
Good luck!

Old friend of mine from high school died of an alcoholism-related heart attack a few years ago, at 46. Alcohol kills people when consumed in addictive quantities, sooner or later. Glad you just got a warning and not a casket!

That sounds scary, very scary. I'm glad you have made the decision to stop drinking. Good luck with your hernia surgery.
