Emotions and Over Thinking

Hi I am only on day 4 of not drinking and certain things have changed with my family this time that I wont be picking up again. I would just like to know is over thinking and emotions all over the place, worrying about other people part of early sobriety..

Yes. It is. It's a classic symptom and nothing to worry about. It'll go away. Your brain is adapting to the absence of alcohol so what you're experiencing is actually a good sign. It means your brain is recovering.

Wishing you well.

Oh yeah. I think I had numbed my brain so much that when I stopped it was like the floodgates opened. It calms down eventually though, just roll with it x

Sounds about normal. Anxiety is amplified in the early days. Tell yourself to stop over-thinking things. I have actually yelled out loud to myself to stop thinking and it works!

I didn't realize I have been doing the same thing. Like a broken record... My thoughts just keep going back to 'that stupid thing I did on Saturday night'. And worrying about the approaching weekend. All the input here is great. Thank you everyone.
