Need some major prayers
I found out this week that my job is on serious jeopardy. I believe I will find out today what is going to happen.
Please, if it's your thing...send prayers, positive thoughts, good vibes, etc. If I lose my job, it would be a matter of weeks before I would be without a far and a place to live.

Wisconsin.....Remember....somehow, things always work out.....
You have always survived.... you are strong.....
I have been in the same place...I know the fear and uncertainly that you have, right now.....(more than once).......
take comfort.....the forces of the Universe will care for you....

Thank you so much, good juju warriors. Right at the very end of the day, my boss "unofficially" told me that I can rest easy this weekend. This week has been such a roller coaster. I have not been that scared in a long time. I was future tripping in a big way, convinced that if I lost my job I would have to move back in with STBXAH.
Thank you again for your unfailing support and friendship. This is such a special corner of the interwebz.

What a relief! Yup, time to start funding that emergency fund (if you don't already have one).
The supplement for my emergency fund is also to have a couple of super-low-interest credit cards. If in dire straits I could use one of those for most purchases and just pay bills like mortgage with cash. Building good credit now, while securely employed, so you can qualify for something like that, can pay off if you ever have emergency expenses or find yourself temporarily unemployed.

Oh, no you will not have to move with HIM . . . that is your brain panicking. Things are going to work out just fine. Make sure you have a good, relaxed weekend.
And a credit card suggestion . . . they have tons of cards with 0% approval and interest for a whole year. That is a lot of time to figure things out, and even establish yourself financially (in a worst case scenario).
I'll keep sending good vibes your way!

Well, one other thing to remember about credit cards is you're unlikely to be approved for one unless you're employed. So 0% intro rates won't do you a whole lot of good in an emergency (though once you're employed again, they could help reduce the rates using balance transfers). I'd opt for getting a couple with long-term low interest rates. I have one credit card through my bank (with whom I have a checking/savings account, as well as a mortgage and home equity loan, and direct deposit) and the regular interest rate is 6.49 percent. If I had to carry a balance on that one for a while it wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg.
