Day One. Again.

I started drinking to deal with a painful relationship. One where I was hurt and beat up, and emotionally abused. But that was over ten years ago. A lot of good and bad things have happened since then, and I haven't been a totally ****** person, but I absolutely have to stop drinking, it is affecting the people I love.

I respect recovering addicts so much, because I know how insanely hard it is to go through this process. If you have any words of support for me, I would be so grateful to hear them.

Welcome, Wendy!

The best support we can offer you is a positive place to spend time without drinking.

You'll learn lots and come to love this place.

Here's a couple good threads to join:

Hello, WendyTime, you've found a great place to begin. Day one is the first step. SR helped me tremendously. There are a lot of others with similar situations who've over come drinking problems and you can relate to their stories. And, you'll find support and advice for getting through the tough times. And, you'll get a lot of encouragement when you need it.
Let us know how you're getting along.

Welcome Wendy, I believe you will find a tremendous amount of support and ideas on this forum that can help you get sober. Reach out to people, send message, build relationships. We've all been where you are, which is why we are here. Every single person who has attained sobriety started with day 1, its a mathematical fact. You can to. I wish you the very best. Keep posting. I believe you will find it helpful.

Wendy, I would say to you that you can do this! You're right, it's insanely hard, but it's so worth it.
