Today was/is a big deal for me.
Today is an important day for me. I just finished my first workout in an effort to get back into some type of physical condition. I made the decision that today would be the day last week, and I thought about it all weekend. It was only 36 minutes. 12 treadmill, 12 bike, 12 back on treadmill. I don't feel rejuvenated, I feel sick, but I knew I would after such a long layoff. I was able to sweat through my clothes, which was my goal. The next 14 days will be solely dedicated to this initial phase, then I will implement more and more. Both knees seemed to tolerate it pretty well. Will be sore tomorrow.
Prior to today, my focus has been on things that are pretty well documented here. Quitting drinking, tapering off medication, making some lifestyle changes, getting through the life changes of the business and my injuries. Three major factors have contributed to eliminating alcohol, SR, triggers, (I no longer listen to music, and I don't watch any of those stupid sophomoric shows I used to watch and laugh) and engaging in intellectual activities during the times I would usually drink away. My wife wants us to try and lose some weight so she loaded up on meat and veggies. I doubt it will last, we love our pasta and rice!

God, I posted something similar to this on a popular social media website, within 6 minutes I had over 20 likes from people I've known my whole life, even their wives had "liked" it. I have a lump in my throat and tears welling in my eyes. This has been such a long, hard and very lonely road back. And I'm not even back, I just started. Jeff

Jeff, this is wonderful to hear! Great going! And "only" 36 minutes the first time??
That's a pretty big workout if you ask me!
It is great that you want to get more fit and healthy! Keep it up! The healthy diet as well.

Great job, Jeff! You can still eat pasta and rice...just get the healthy kind and portion control. You both can do it! I love that you and your wife are trying together. That is "buddy support". Love it!!! ♡CR
After I get out there and do it, I may feel a little wiped at times.
But, given a while it actually does make me feel so much better.
Remember what they say,
use it or lose it.
