drinking helppp
So a friend just called and said he was going to the liquor store and wanted to stop by my house to have a drink with me... it took a lot for me to say no but I did. But now I keep thinking about how great a smoke and stiff drink would be right now..
No, it isn't like that for us. Things get bad and ugly, real bad and ugly. Romanticizing the drink and smoke isn't good. Really, how bad did it get for you? Stopping again seems to get more difficult each time for us!
Hold strong, tonib. You will be so proud of yourself when you go to bed sober and even prouder when you wake up Monday morning hangover-free!!!!
Great job on turning your friend's offer down.

It often helped me to re-read some of my old threads toni - use the drop down menu under your name beside your post and read through some old threads to remind yourself of why you're sober now

I'm glad you're not going to have to endure that awfulness.
The last time I thought like that, I wound up in detox a month and a half later. It started put as fun and ended up with me down the capper, suicidal and bedded down going through awful withdrawals beside the homeless drunks off the street.
It's not worth it. Good for you for not drinking!
