Unhappy sunday

So today I'm in bed and have been all morning. I've been three weeks sober and the exhaustion is getting to be to much.. I quit smoking and drinking at the same time and feel like I've been hit with the sleepy withdrawal symptom 100 times over..

Hey tonib - give your body some time to adjust. There's nothing wrong with sleeping and relaxing while you physically heal. In the beginning, I slept a LOT!

Congrats on three weeks! That's still early in recovery tho, so give yourself more time to heal and get back to normal functioning. It will get better.

Hi, Tony.

Congrats on your sober and non-smoking time!

Your body finally got a break from self-destructive substances, so it uses natural remedy of sleep to repair itself. Don't be hard on yourself.

After all sobriety gives a darn good return on investment - after years and even decades of abuse it starts paying off within weeks and months.

Keep up good job.

Great job tonib! Yes, this is an early time for recovery...fatigue, foggy brain, and some other symptoms are common. Plus you gave up nicotine too! I cut alcohol and caffeine at the same time and have had some issues with energy levels this past month myself!

Hang in there!
