Changes in vision after quitting?

Hi Guys,
Newbie here. Hello! I'm 12 days in for the 1st time in YEARS and quite serious, finally. I guess I had had an epiphany of sorts, but that's for another time.
Here's something that baffles me. I can see more clearly without my glasses (distance) than with, now. I'm driving without glasses for the first time since my 20s!! (long time ago). Close vision has become blurrier, I have to wear readers to see the computer screen since I stopped drinking. - Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks, and happy Saturday!

65 years old and 8 years sober.
I also used to wear glasses for distance.
At about the 5 year mark in recovery
I noticed that I no longer needed them.
See just as well now without them.

Reading glasses still help.

My poor wife is half blind without her glasses.

I thank God for my eyesight.

Met a young lady of 26 years a while back.
She actually partially blinded herself in one eye with a cigarette while drunk.

Welcome to the Forum Sisu!!

Yeah I found a few changes, never underestimate how much blood pressure and eye sight can be linked, and if like me after years of drinking your blood pressure was through the roof, any lowering could affect my eyes, though it was also for the better.

Shortly after I got Sober I got my eyes retested, the body even vision has to adjust!!

If you're wondering if this can be real, get your vision tested by an eye doctor, just to find out if your vision has gotten better.

Oh boy, I just got new Rx glasses [both distance and reading]… wonder if I'm going to need new Rxs soon? Thanks for the post. I'm learning a lot here.

Ah, blood pressure! Makes sense. Yes, I'm quite certain my vision has gotten better, have had these eyes for a few years!
Thanks for the welcome, PurpleKnight

Thank you , soberwolf!
I have been wearing readers for a few years now, but it never got bad enough to need them in front of the 'puter. Oh well, I'll take clearing distance vision any day

That happened to me too right at the 9 month mark. I read somewhere that depression can actually change the way a person perceives color. It was like in the Wizard of Oz when it went from black & white to Technicolor .
