Day 18 - I've literally never slept this long

It seems I needed some extra rest... I woke up today at about 11:30 am. Yesterday evening I was out of bed for a short while to post here and eat something. That whole deep I had been asleep already and when I went back to bed, I was fast asleep as well. And the night before I had slept all night also.

So that's an almost continuous sleep session of a night, a whole day and another whole night until 11:30 am.

I've never slept this long before. But I needed it. I feel much better now. My brain seems it is has made some great recovery steps.

I don't know if I'll have much time to post today. If you miss a day, suddenly there's a lot of stuff to do.

Beginning with a shower, I really need one.

Congrats on 18 days sober! Our bodies repair themselves while we sleep, and you've had the flu. Your sleep pattern will normalize when you are fully recovered.

Today was amazing. I spent a lot of time outside with my brother. Spring is beginning to seep through and the warmth of the sun was wonderful. We cooked together, met up with my parents and they all could tell I was doing much better.

My brother still has my wallet although at this point I'm certain that I wouldn't buy alcohol. I noticed that I have an interesting response when I see the alcohol section or think about alcohol. I get a bit nauseous. Not bad, but enough to really not want it. And it goes away immediately as long I have no focus on alcohol.

It's like my body is saying: "No." Which I'm grateful for.

My attitude when it comes to my wallet is: I am certain I can take it back now. So I will let my brother take care of it for at least two more months. That just makes sense. No risk.

Anyway, it was a good day. And I expect tomorrow to be even better.
